What a great weekend that was! I feel totally refreshed and ready to tackle the week after the past two days. You may have seen some updates on Instagram if you follow me, but here are the highlights I didn’t share.
Saturday started with an awesome hot vinyasa class. My usual teacher was out, so we had a substitute. He put us through a ton of sun salutations and kept us working hard the whole class, which I loved. After class I was feeling super productive, so I cleaned the house, then did my nails and FINALLY got a haircut for the first time since February.
Saturday night, Riley and I headed over to a friend’s house to celebrate his birthday.
I hadn’t seen some of our friends in a really long time, so it was fun to sip on some wine, stuff my face, and be social.
We didn’t stay out too late, so we woke up nice and early on Sunday. Temperatures had dropped quite a bit, so it was brisk and really cool Sunday morning. We even turned the fireplace on for a little while to warm the house back up, which the cats were really excited about.
I took advantage of the awesome weather and took Bella out for a nice long walk. She was so adorable and happy to be outside and not dying of heat!
I was very domestic for the rest of the day. I’d prepped a breakfast casserole the night before and put it in the fridge, so while Riley and I sipped coffee, the casserole heated up and Riley made some home fries to go with it.
I love making casserole, especially the night before. Makes the work in the morning pretty much non-existent. I didn’t write down everything I did, but if you head over to the Recipes page I’ve got a couple similar recipes for breakfast casserole on there.
The rest of Sunday was spent lounging around with Riley. We watched football, I made a mimosa, and enjoyed the weather with all the windows open. I also baked some pumpkin bread, and made pigs in a blanket. The pigs in a blanket were random, but I asked Riley what kind of football food he wanted me to make and that was his request.
It was a great way to spend the weekend! I feel totally rested up and ready to get this Monday started.
On today’s workout agenda is a run on the treadmill and an ab workout. My arms are literally still sore from Yoga on Saturday, so I won’t be lifting anything heavy!
