How was everyone’s weekend? I had a great weekend at home in Williamsburg. Between hot yoga, the farmer’s market, girl’s lunch, afternoon naps, date night, some shopping, and football, my weekend was basically perfect.
*Side note: speaking of hot yoga, wanna hear something creepy? For all those iPhone users out there, have you ever noticed in your notification center the part where it tells you how long it’ll take to get to work/home during the day? I’m used to seeing that, but I was NOT used to opening this up Saturday morning and being told it would take 10 minutes to get to my hot yoga studio. How does it know?!?!?! I don’t know if I should be super impressed or incredibly creeped out. Anyway, back to my post….
Here were some of the highlights from the weekend:
Hot yoga, then meeting up with a couple girls from work to browse the farmer’s market in Colonial Williamsburg.
Escaping the heat for lunch at The Trellis restaurant.
Roast beef sandwich for me, with a kale slaw on the side.
Mexican dinner for date night. Margarita for Riley, Pacifico beer for me.
I ordered some amazing steak/cheese/peppers thing that was crazy good and terrible for me.
Homemade cappucino while Riley cooked brunch.
Shopping, then pouring a beer to enjoy the first Redskins game of the season.
Playing with Captain the kitten.
It was an all-around great weekend. I’m so happy Riley has Sundays off again. Even though he spends most of Sunday with his boys watching football, I love having a quiet morning at home with him. And, I’ll admit it, I also enjoy that he makes me breakfast. Only 5 more days until the weekend starts all over again!
Today is a great day, my friends, because today marks the beginning of Admission Travel Season. It’s officially begun for me because I’m leaving for Charlotte, NC, for the week to start recruiting next year’s freshmen. We literally JUST welcomed the class of 2018 and now it’s on to the next one.
I’ll be spending the next few days visiting high schools, meeting prospective students, and making best friends with guidance counselors. The next few days will also be filled with a lot of hotel gym workouts, eating at restaurants by myself, browsing Target, and other various fun things to pass the time.
For those of you who are new to the blog, check out my two favorite posts from last year’s travel season:
I’m headed into the office to pick up some supplies and my rental car, then hitting the road for the 6 hour trip to Charlotte.
I’ll catch you all later!
Do you travel for work?
What did you do this weekend?
