Hey friends! I’m a bit late popping this week, but life has gotten in the way. I wanted to share some of the highlights from my birthday weekend with you, though! I celebrated the whole weekend because that’s what you should do every time. I’m so thankful to have such great friends, family, and co-workers.
On Friday, my co-workers brought me cards and wine. They know me so well. We were super busy so the day went by in a flash!
Friday evening I got home from work and Riley surprised me with his annual “office care package.” He puts together a bag of snacks for me to take into the office and he found all kinds of healthy (and some not-so-healthy) goodies for me to share during our most stressful time of the year.
For dinner on Friday, I met some of the Williamsburg ladies out for some birthday fun. Two of us were celebrating birthdays and we all shared drinks, food, and basically got kicked out for staying too long!
Saturday morning started bright and early. I had to work Open House, but everything went really well and if I have to work on my birthday, at least I really like the people I work with!
Riley was working Saturday, so after treating myself to a birthday nap I went out to Target and bought myself a new vacuum. We’ve needed one for awhile and I’m super happy with the one I got (I got this one, in case you’re wondering). Nothing like getting excited to vacuum to know for sure you’re in your 30s. Ha!
While I waited for Riley to get home, I cracked open some of my gifted wine and chatted with my sister on the phone for a bit.
Then we headed out to Sal’s for some Italian food.
I had spinach ravioli that was so delicious! Riley got me a little chocolate cake for dessert. I was super full from dinner, but I managed to have a few bites anyway.
My parents came down on Sunday to take me to a late lunch and we went to one of my favorite spots in town, Food For Thought. The place is always packed and their average wait time for a table is 45 minutes, so we waited until closer to 2:00 when it was only a 10 minute wait. I love this spot because there’s truly something for everyone and I was pumped to see they carry the Beyond Burger now. They gussied it up with mushrooms and avocado and it was amazing.
After hanging out with my parents after lunch, they headed back to Richmond and I enjoyed the rest of my weekend at home.
And now it’s time to get my 33rd year started! I already have a feeling it’ll be a good one.
What kind of vacuum do you have?
How did you celebrate your last birthday?
